Nigerian music stars, Wizkid, Tiwa Savage, Fireboy DML and Omay Lay have been nominated for NAACP Award 2022.

The singers were nominated for the NAACP Image Awards in the Outstanding International Song category, organised by the National Association for Advancement of Coloured People (NAACP). The announcement was made by Kyla Pratt, Marcus Scribner and Tinashe via an Instagram live session Tuesday, 18th January 2022.

The annual award honours the achievements of people of colour across television, music, literature and film, and the promotion of social justice through their creative endeavours. This year award will be its 53rd edition. The nominations feature a host of Nigerian artists especially the category of ‘Outstanding International Song’  which include Wizkid ft Tems and Justin Bieber Essence Remix, Fireboy DML Peru, Tiwa Savage ft Brandy, Somebody’s Son, KiDi Touch It and Omah Lay Understand

Finally, the NAACP Image Award 53rd edition will be aired on BET, CBS, and MTV on Saturday, February 26, 2022.
