UMG announces launch of Def Jam Africa with artists; Vector, Larry Gaaga, Cassper Nyovest, more

Universal Music Group has announced the launch of Def Jam Africa to support the best in African hip-hop and culture across the continent.

The label launched with some of Africa’s most influential artists and MC’s such as; Vector, Cassper Nyovest, Nasty C, Larry Gaaga, Boity, Nadia Nakai, Tellaman, Tshego and Ricky Tyler.

The label will initially be based in Johannesburg, South Africa and Lagos, Nigeria, but will identify and sign artist talent from across the entire continent. .

It was made known on the official Twitter handle of Def Jam Recording: @defjam

Universal Music Group announced they launch of Def Jam Africa A new label division with the continent dedicated to representing the best hip-hip, Afrobests and trap talent in Africa.

Def Jam Africa will follow the blueprint of the iconic Def Jam Recordings label
