Tems Co-Writes New Rihanna Soundtrack ‘Lift Me Up’ For ‘Black Panther: Wakanda Forever’

World’s famous music star turned billionaire Fashion Entrepreneur makes her long-awaited return, crediting Tems along with Ludwig Goransson, Rihanna and Ryan Coogler, on the release of the new single, ‘Lift Me Up’.

After six years of her album ‘ANTI’, Rihanna has taken a much-needed hiatus from releasing solo music as she focuses on several business ventures, the music and business mogul is now making her return to the music scene with a single for ‘Black Panther 2: Wakanda Forever’.

‘Lift Me Up” the lead promotional single for the highly anticipated film, was a tribute to the quintessential life and legacy of the late Chadwick Boseman by BET award-winning singer and songwriter Tems, Oscar award winner Ludwig Goransson, Rihanna and Ryan Coogler.

Speaking on her contributions to the upcoming single, Nigerian International sensation Tems said:

 “After speaking with Ryan and hearing his direction for the film and the song, I wanted to write something that portrays a warm embrace from all the people that I’ve lost in my life. I tried to imagine what it could feel like if I could sing to them now and express how much I miss them. Rihanna has been an inspiration to me so hearing her convey this song is a great honor.”

Moreso, the news of Tems’ collaboration, out October 28th, comes shortly after Nigeria was set to host the African premiere of ‘Black Panther 2: Wakanda Forever’ in Lagos and months after the release of the movie’s trailer which featured a cover of Bob Marley’s “No Woman, No Cry” by Tems. The track which was also accompanied by “A Body, A Coffin” performed by Ghanaian sensation, Amaarae.

Following the recent teaser, the soundtrack will be available on November 4 from Roc Nation Records/Def Jam Records/ Hollywood Records.
